Verified Amazon Purchase (What's this?) This is a small text short Carroll, to introduce children to reason logically, specifically set logic "Some Cretans are liars" variety. At the time, it was probably an excellent job for this purpose. There are two reasons why it is not so much a text about it today, but at least not in this edition Kindle.
The first is that your old Carroll here badly. To begin, the general tone is sometimes painfully precious, in a way that would probably put off any modern child, reading this text, beyond the examples he chooses are. . curious, by modern standards – for example, the second series of extended examples of centers around the two propositions "All dragons are uncanny" and "all the Scots are smart. "
The biggest problem is that the whole mechanism of the book revolves around a square grid pattern that is simply not reflected in the Kindle edition – it seems a whole ||||' s side by side . What makes the arguments of the book rather difficult to follow for any Carroll and charm.
These two issues aside, the text of Carroll did a good job of explaining the basic logic theory so that children can understand. But unfortunately, this edition is more a historical curiosity that this is nothing.
