although, yeah, warcraft is more lighthearted, and more appealing to a wider amount of people (more fun quicker, i guess) but i’ve always preferred warhammer’s (including 40k’s) depth and grittiness. but perhaps that’s just me.
i dunno. i feel like warcraft is just easier. and less expensive.. then again.. i’m not entirely sure.

I think you could have summed that up by saying, Warcraft is a story that creates a world. Warhammer is a world that creates stories.
… I like warcraft lore etc… but you do know that it origins spring from warhammer… As blizzard actually wanted to make a warhammer rts back in the day but couldnt get the rights… so they made warcraft. Warhammers history runs way deeper then warcraft although warcraft has evolved alot in story over the years… Imo every1 shud just stop bitching and enjoy them both.

yeah i see, well, i guess their both rather unique, and both have hteir stereo types, but the warcraft story has a lot of smaller stories, and other parts that made it what it is, and they all peice together well, but i could never rally follow any events from warhammer together, the books were so scattered it made no real sense
You said ALL fantasy stereo types, which is more true for Warcraft than Warhammer. Warcraft’s main races being Orcs, Humans, Blond magicy elves, Foresty elves, Dwarfs, Centaurs.. well ok, their trolls are pretty inventive, and the Erredar too I suppose. But they stole their Goblin design straight from Warhammer, so in that regard they’re about even.
Warhammer’s story is not meant to piece together. Like in the real world, lots of things happen all over the world instead of a main story.

your missing hte point, i used to REALLY be on warhammer, but i never really found the story to make sense, i mean their is one, i know this, but it doesn’t peice well together as Warcraft, and no chaos and skaven aren’t stereo types, but everything else still is stereo typical and not that imaginative. but im not gonna get into an arguement because it will last a month er so, its an opinion, no i don’t know THAT much about warhammer, but from what i read, its not for me

No real story? Excuse me? There is no single epic storyline around which everything in the world resolves, like in most fantasy games/book/movies. But the background fluff behind everything is so vast that you could fill 10 bibles with it.
And when did stuff like Chaos and Skaven become fantasy stereotypes?

I honestly see nothing “main stream” in warcraft, but when i look at warhammer, i see humans, elves, dwarves, and orcs at war, they are ALL in fantasy stereo type, and theirs no real story. So which game has the most mainstream bullshit? eh chudfapper?

(continued again)After another war, eventually the undead army finds its way to arthas, who makes himself the leader of the undead through frostmourne, and severs the connection from the demons. The demons once again looking for allies find the Blood elves, the Naga, and illidan. They befriend each other and move into outland, where they prepare to wipe out our planet. The leaders of each army (except the demon army) is killed. From here the horde and alliance focus their efforts on the Undead..

(Continued) The orcs arrive and the humans and orcs have a massive war, and eventually someone dispells the rage curse on the orcs. When the demons realise they’re main army isn’t under control, they make a powerful shaman (also an orc) turn into a lich, and they create an undead spawning plague. The humans and orcs band together to fight the undead, along with other races. The demons also make their home on the other side of the planet, this is where the elves come in, the elves fight…

actually, warcraft has the most screwed up story line, theirs NOTHING mainstream about it, trust me, warhammer on the other hand, is nothing about main stream. If actually knew what you were talking about you would know… heres warcraft in a nutshell, orcs and draenei on an alien planet, are living peacefully, a demon army masses and promises an orc leader power and forces the orcs to slaughter the draenei, a portal is opened with the help of the demons to get to the human planet
