Being a teacher of music, j' bought this book in the toenhance d' hopes my program of music. J' had evil in the past to find the plays musical that the infants can appreciate apart from musical chairs! With this book, I n' will never have this problem. For s' to ensure that my students have l' RECREATION learning the music, we spend the last part of class playing one of these plays. It is easy to make because this book provides you a guide indicating suitability d' age, how long the play takes (5 mn, 15 mn, 30 mn, etc), specific number of the players needed, and of the instruments and/or the bearing pedestal bridge if necessary. Ah, I made mention that you don& #039; do T have to be a child to like these plays? Well, you don& #039; T! There are plays inside here for these know-it-ales competing of music like me! J' mentioned that this book is large for parts of planning? Forget the clown, it& #039; S usually a tear with far from any way! Moreover, the music and the parts go hand in hand! Boils, it& #039; deliver completely large of SA! .

This review is of: 101 plays of music for children: Recreation and étude with the rate/rhythm and the song (books d' activité of SmartFun) (Spiral-bound)

C' is a good book so that the professors of music have, but don& #039; T intend to employ each of the 101 plays. Much is variations on a thème, is impratical in the classroom, or are not simply très musical. An example of this is a play oà ¹ étudiants must act the titles of the songs outside, like charades. Sour, it& #039; D is probably recreation, but it& #039; S hard to say what étudiants réellement get information about the music of that. I& #039; D indicate there& #039; plays of S 10-15 which I think that I could employ – or leave for a submarine à l' use. J' également would modify the majority d' between them to return them more appropriées for a space limité of classroom.

David Shaffer proposes here that we inform of the children by making them make the things which the adults make–only by simulating them in the form of play. C' I haven&amp is an idea; #039; T function through front, and I think qu' it can have the true merit. & amp; #13; J' have a nine years old son who goes to l' school d' State. Its school devotes much d' money and effort on l' study d' computer, but j' was frankly underwhelmed by the results. The educational software I& #039; doesn& #039 seen by VE; T strike me as much d' an advance above the instantaneous charts–just much expensive. I am generally considered a skeptic on the whole subject of the computers in the classroom. & amp; #13; Shaffer& #039; the point of S is that not simply n' import which software of study will have the educational advantages. The software must be a serious attempt to simulate the kind of tasks which the adults make, like running of the businesses or designing a building. Shaffer calls these plays epistemic. Shaffer& #039; descriptions of S of some of these plays seem interesting, and it provides l' obviousness which the children learn much from them. Shaffer& #039; the search for S seems to have dealt mainly with teenagers; its obviousness for the advantages of these plays seems much less full more for the children in low age. & amp; #13; I can& #039; T indicate qu' I& #039; m convinced that the computers in the classroom are worth the costs, but after the Shaffer&amp reading; #039; deliver I& #039 of S; m wanting to consider at least l' idea. Shaffer can indeed have something here which could be an ahead significant step in l' education. & amp; #13; This known as, Shaffer& #039; the search for S strikes me as very preliminary. His studies implied only some children, who were far choosing by chance. The professors were sorted with the hand, strongly – justified, and interested by the subject qu' they taught. The report/ratio of the professors to the students was high, and the professors put in much d' effort. The children n' were continued that during a short duration only. C' is far d' to be a proof that the concept epistemic of play functions. In my opinion, it& #039; S far from probable that conditions this favorable to learn could be maintained for a great d' number; children for one long period at a reasonable cost. Professors putting in that pleasant at l' effort roast quickly. Would the plays epistemic function with the ordinary children taught by an ordinary professor? Who knows? If this resembles d' I& #039; m being a little sourpuss, the fact is that l' history of l' education is absolutely filled of the & quot; reforms& quot; that worked well with some children and a selected group professors, but to improve l' long-term education. The American schools are aujourd' today in the very sad form. Most of the blame for that goes to the reforms of l' teaching quite disposed which was applied too to haste, without obviousness qu' they really improved of the educational results for the majority of the children. & amp; #13; In a general way, although, Shaffer& #039; the book of S is interesting and good in value the reading.

Dr. Shaffer aims at the high one and strikes really the mark. Books more récents and more réussis concerning l' étude and the plays vidéo go for l' aficionado chevronné d' computer (I), or l' luxuriant newbie d' computer (my husband). Seldom they make aim both. Shaffer& #039; the matières of S are deep and broad, but its language is liquid and modest; in conséquence, the two assistances will find the pieces useful of knowledge which résonnent. & amp; #13; It n' is not difficult to include/understand why the twelve-year-olds d' aujourd' today would play plutôt SIMS or WOULD CONDEMN IT which finish their work of maths. Shaffer (and its excellent équipe d' étudiants of troisième cycle) reviewed irrésistible right très for why these expériences n' do not need d' être mutually – l' exclusivité. In fact, if the plays in the book become more the standard in of écoles of the tats-Plain à ‰, there could indeed be hope for our children on the world marché numA©ric après all.

In this book, Shaffer takes the conversation about the plays and their relevance with the société généralement and for children& #039; S learning in particular, à a new level. In a world oà ¹ the pensée normalisée quickly is encapsulée in machines or externalisée, it says, l' éducation owes être about providing to the young people occasions d' to learn let us façons them to think innovating. & amp; #13; What is in oà ¹ the plays d' computer come: & quot of these plays; be significant parce qu' they let to us think in new the ways& quot; (P. 191). & amp; #13; While tourism a série of vidéo and d' other plays, the book is centrally concerné by a new kind of play appelé a & quot; play epistemic. & quot; In these plays, the players take professional rôles physically, like that d' a ingA©nior or d' an architect, and use computers (and mentors/even) to identify and résoudre problèmes – to think – as of the professionals. & amp; #13; In each one of its six chapters, the book explores a play epistemic spA©cific, such as the zoo of Digitals (about technology), by a professional dimension particulière, such as the & quot spA©cific; Knowledge& quot; or & quot; Values& quot; d' a ingA©nior. (Of the commercial plays of promise are as well discutés along similar lines à end of each chapter. ) In conséquence, the book déplace easily in the two directions between the personal histories and études impressive, helping the readers connect full research on the play playing to the important théories of étude. & amp; #13; This book is a nécessité read for n' import which intéressé with the plays, à l' étude, and with the irrésistibles visions so that the façon transforms l' éducation.
