Fun: 5. 0 out of 5 stars Oblivion certainly live up to its reputation for Game of the Year for 2006/2007.
The interface is very easy to handle. The combat system is intuitive, and I found the recovery from fatigue and Magicka / mana to be quite unique to the RPG environment. I often found myself hanging around potions to regenerate mana and hit points in other games. This is not the case with Oblivion! My dark elf character regenerate Magicka and fatigue, then it was extremely easy to cast spells that restored health.
The game crashed to the desktop of only a handful of times over the ten days I spent playing, so I would say it was above average in reliability. The game runs smoothly at 800×600 with a P4 3. 0 GHz processor and an ATI Radeon X1950 GT 256 MB AGP video card.
The most remarkable aspect of this game is the number of quests and the sandbox aspect of exploration and character development. I did not stick to the main quest, but I was often diverted to various quests that lead to additional quests! It is not uncommon to have a dozen or more active quests in your log!
The second most intriguing element of this game is the ability to make potions, spells and enchantments for your items. This is a fairly unique! This is no longer the player restricted to cookie-cutter items and equipment. You can enchant armor to provide chameleon (invisible), then you can enchant weapons to suck the life out of your opponents at every strike.
A "mini-quest, you can even play as a vampire who must feed on sleeping victims or you start losing life points under the sun (with smoke your skin).
I must say that Oblivion is one of the most innovative games I have played in recent years. This special edition includes GOTY Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansion, providing months of gameplay months. I spent over 50 hours and have not even started the main quest.
Strengths: Intuitive interface for exploration, enchanting items, and make spells. The combat interface is exceptional for a RPG. I remember the days of text-based RPGs and RPGs like Final Fantasy II for the SNES where you were always forced to take damage in the corners. Oblivion is a mix of shooting and first-person RPG. Godfather fans will probably see quite a resemblance, except that Oblivion is far larger than the Godfather.
The GOTY edition includes the latest patch and I have not encountered any problems with the quests that were previously found in earlier versions.
Cons: The voice acting is repetitive since they prevent the recycling voice actors for minor NPCs. It is also a pro because it allows for a larger budget in developing the game itself. I find myself reading the text more than listening to the groans of the NPC, someone stole their life, or need some special wine.
I found that not being able to travel quickly to locations marked was annoying. Fast travel is useful because you can get from one place to another without being forced to ride or run on foot. Unfortunately, fast travel only works if you've explored the area and found the location. In addition, rapid travel only works if there are no enemies to attack and if you're outside in an open space. You can not fast travel from inside a cave or inside a building. This can be quite annoying at times.
Although you can develop your character by improving his skills, there is not much development in the interaction between characters. For example, when you join the Dark Brotherhood, almost everyone is open and receptive. It felt like this was the friendliest faction. Marie Antoinette seems to have more than a friendly disposition toward your character, but he never developed further than any typical joke with NPCs. I think it's a major flaw in many games today, but it is probably a technical limitation more than anything.
        Bottom line:
Oblivion Game of the Year edition gets a 10/10 rating from me based on being an excellent game overall. Very rarely a game to find almost everything right and still be able to function properly on PC hardware budget. There are just so many things to accomplish in this game.

Fun: 5. 0 out of 5 stars What can I say about this revolutionary computer RPG that has not been said?
To me, it's arguably the best game in the computer gaming history, period.
"Forgetfulness" is a non-linear, free form, 1st-person RPG, colored with beautiful next generation graphics that enhances the immersive gameplay set in the huge world where you can do anything anywhere anytime you feel like it.
There are more than 20 cities and settlements, 300 quests, 300 dungeons, caves, ruins, tunnels and shelves available in the game (combining 'Knights of the Nine "official DLC, and" Shivering Isles ").
Then there TES Construction Set. Using this set of tools used by Bethesda to create incredible TES IV Oblivion, there are literally over 2000 mods made by gamers like you and me, available free to come and always on a daily basis.
I spent nearly 200 hours over 50 mods installed and I only covered less than 70 quests. I was too busy exploring underground, fight monsters, collect Loots, sell equipment for better quality homes, decoration.
To hell with the world's economies. I have only half the main quest, and I do not intend to finish it in the foreseeable future.
The production value is simply stratospheric. From character design, character design, environment, grass, tree, flower, water, animal, object, monster, construction, and stone to stone, Bethesda paid much attention to detail that is breathtakingly beautiful.
Jeremy Soule music and sound effects are another achievement worthy of praise.
No other RPG in the history of video game gives the player so much freedom in the gameplay because it is so obvious early on in the character creation.
If you spend enough time, you can create virtually any address real person both living and dead in the resemblance disturbing.
Whether you like it or not, I think "forgetting" has set the standard by which all future CRPG, and even other genres to some extent be measured over a long period.
To the credit of Bethesda, "Oblivion" managed to streamline the workings of his beloved franchise CRPG game in more public and accessible, which became a huge success, or dumbing down for the console kiddies as described, depends on the how you look. I know that many people were turned off by the changes from older TES series, and 'Oblivion vs. Morrowind: What is the best? "is still one of the most hotly debated in the official forum. Since I have fond memories of all previous TES series, I will not go to war in flames. I see no point to emphasize constructive play rather than another. They all have advantages and disadvantages, and no game is perfect.
I could not read one review of the new CRPG called "two worlds" without comparing it to "oblivion." What a burden and a curse, it is for "Two Worlds", which was brutally ransacked by critics and users. I really like this game, too. Although I really enjoyed this game, it was ultimately not enough to erase the memory of "oblivion." If "Fallout 3" is near success of "forgetting" Bethesda Softworks will be the next great RPG giant like 'Blizzard' / 'Black Isle' / 'Trinity Bioware "Once made at the time. You can be sure Bethesda will release with TES V, and its success is virtually guaranteed, no matter what direction it takes.
Now I think too many gameplay mechanics of the past as CRPG Ultima, Baldur's Gate, "" Wizardry "or" Diablo Series "is derived from the limitations of technology at the time rather than the game of choice design. I still have original copies of "Baldur's Gate" and "Diablo Series" and "Ultima series ',' Wizardry 8 ',' Planescape: Torment", "Fallout 1, 2 ', and of course Morrowind' Daggerfall 'and'.
Except for "Morrowind, I do not see me play and enjoy these games as I once used to anymore.
I tried them recently and was pleasantly surprised to see how they are pathetically outdated now. Aesthetics play vidio increased exponentially since those days.
Even 'Morrowind' took some time to adapt re-immerse myself. When I say technology, I'm not just talking graphics, but the scope and opportunities that simply was not feasible in the past. Better technology does not always translate into better play, but it helps immensely to create an immersive game world, and the technology has removed all barriers for game developers to realize their vision in games. This will mean new games that converge crossover types. Upcoming games like "Mass Effect" and "Fallout 3" are the testimony of Aesthetics game being created yet.
What would you see in the future RPG Bethesda in terms of gaming?
For me, one thing I really see is the interaction with NPCs improved. Radiant AI is the right direction for the NPC interaction, but I would like to see implemented more detail. In series "Gothic", the NPC actually perform various activities, including the player character can perform well. NPCs react when weapons drawn on or penetrated by. I know that these reactions "Gothic" is the presentation of scripted events, but acts as if the NPCs were alive. NPC to "oblivion", while acting for the dynamic schedule, sometimes resemble pantomiming. Several times I witnessed the awesome NPC interaction only possible with 'Radiant A. I ', but many times the NPC wanders aimlessly in circles, too. The deposition character drops when the weapon is called during the conversation, but it would be nice to hear the reaction of the more distinctive NPCs in the act. The daily routine could be more detailed in the animation. Fishing, wood carving, metal forging, manufacturing of weapons, food and drink lists continue. I wish I had more choice of dialogue and right to refuse any quest. Several times, they give you one choice in "oblivion".
Another thing is the consequences of an action with the player and his influence to the persistent world such as guilds. In the "forgotten" your actions, either good or bad, just create an impact on the gaming world. Although there are more than one method to solve the many individual tasks, and more than one outcome in the results of the search, it does not really change the general pattern of the game. I heard 'Bethesda' working very hard on this for the next Fallout '3 '. For multiple and complex variety of political positions among the different factions would be greatly appreciated.
The next thing is the different combat mechanics for 3rd person. 1st person perspective is outstanding in "oblivion", but it would be sweet to have the fighting mechanical replacement in 'Vanity Fashion' also. This way, players can choose between realistic 1st fight against anyone and Arcady 3rd person combat. Precise Mechanics jump like "Metroid Prime" would be great compared to the Moonwalking unrealistical in the air in "oblivion". More fighting moves as acrobatic roll dodging is fantastic additions.
Havoc Engine is great, but I hope that the manipulation of objects becomes more useful in real world games, quests or fighting in the next iteration.
And my pet peeve of the game, it is so difficult to fight the enemies while NPCs are around, especially the essential features you need to protect.
These are positive suggestions rather than pointing the flaws of the game
New ideas to improve the immersion too open-ended idea would be to reduce the gap between RPG linear and non-linear RPG.
Making RPG and simulation more life-like world is the ultimate Holy Grail Bethesda has been working for Arena, I'm sure.
Whatever the TES game that you like best, the distressing reality is that the choice of the CRPG is very rare in the market today, and we need to play more refined as "forgetting" to embrace mainstream players casual without alienating the hardcore RPG gamers if this market will once again be packed with good CRPG.
The newly released GOTY (Game of the Year) edition of 'TES IV Oblivion' contains the original "Oblivion" and "Knights of the Nine" and "Shiverilg Isles. Unfortunately, the rest of the official DLC (downloadable content) are not available in the package. You can either purchase them for download on the official website (www. elderscrolls. Com) or you can buy the commercial version of "Knights of the Nine" at the store, which also contains all the packages except the new stronghold 'The Fighter's '. I strongly recommend you purchase the retail version, you can freely install and uninstall whenever you need. The precedure to download on the website is such a pain.
This game literally never ends. You spend hundreds of hours a day, you simply leave your own device. "Oblivion" is a game truly non-linear form of free and open to the bitter end, indeed.

Fun: 4. 0 out of 5 stars Try to be as objective as possible, so let me explain why I give it a rating 4 / 5 stars even though I loved him very much.
First, the game has a lot of "improvements" which seem to have been put in place because they make the game more attractive to the masses. These include things like the idea of Quick Trip (I wish I could do this work every morning), self leveling enemies, and so on. I'll explain more about these subjects further. In general, if these "improvements" out of the atmosphere of the game and some, while you can skip the trip quickly, does not seem realistic. Your character has just ran into what could be the equivalent of hell in the Elder Scrolls world, he came outside and suddenly every single mercenary armor glass (really nice stuff) and using top of swords Online? Oblivion gates opening must have really stimulated the economy.
The visuals are beautiful and although the voice acting is really you involved in the story. I also like how the NPCs all have different looks to them (although most have the same vocal track). It is a somewhat realistic environment.
Now, my biggest complaint would be the automatic leveling, as I mentioned above. The reason is that the levels of the enemy were driven by a number of things such as your level and the level of magic in your inventory. This can become a significant problem if you play a mage, you can buy a really nice episode that drains all your mana in a single use, then notice when you can easily kill an enemy while another enemy in the world is now 10 times over your own level of balance that automatically makes it impossible to continue. You have to be careful about buying lots close to the level of your mana can support fast seems strange is that you believe you can do everything that is in your building. Also for a class as a thief, you will find yourself leveling up quickly using your core competencies and find that most enemies will be too strong for you if you need to focus on upgrading skills and not secondary not use your main skills quite so often to stay at the same level that forces the way you play the game
The automatic leveling eliminates somewhat the nature of the RPG aspect of leveling the game if you do. What is to become super strong if the enemies are just as hard when you start like when you're done? Yes, it adds to the game and I am sure with your new skills if you use them correctly, you become stronger than the enemy, but it removes the ability to destroy a legion with a powerful spell or chop by a group of 'weaklings when you deserve to have this power.
Regardless, this is a game very fun and interesting environment to explore. The story is also interesting in view of many role-playing action tend to have difficulty linking the main character in the story because of the nature of them, but Elder Scrolls has always been strong in this area .
The dungeons can be repetitive (in addition to those basic) because often the automatic leveling dungeons will have just the same enemies all around. The cells are self recurrence and then they have treasure chests that respawn automatically as they lack a unique feel real (even if they are configured differently, they will usually give you a similar experience as a whole). There are four types of enemies you'll usually find and are often on their own exclusive dungeons: animals, humans, undead and Daedric beings. I must give credit to developers if in this area because, unlike Morrowind, there is a plethora of creatures in the meeting which was one of his traps Oblivion did not.
I'll leave my opinion on this subject and I am sure most people have said everything, but I would say get this game is, it's worth buying and playing through. I give only a rather poor review because I decided to see where the series has gone wrong this time. It'sa game all around great and probably the best action RPG on the market today, but still has much room for improvement which I hope we'll see with the next iteration of the Elder Scrolls series.
